The Hermit Youth Club

The Hermit Youth Club is a live music venue for the young people of Brentwood!
The local Youth Service is located at The Hermit site on Shenfield Road and offers a range of services for young people aged 13-19 (and up to 25 for those with additional learning needs).

Mondays – Duke of Edinburgh Award

A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. You just need to be aged between 14 and 19 and realise there’s more to life than sitting on a sofa and watching life pass you by. Have a look at the official website

Tuesdays – Endeavour Youth Club

An open centre for young people with learning needs to encourage participation, increase self-awareness and promote new learning opportunities. The centre is open to all young people with a statement of special needs.

Fridays – Hermit Live!

Hermit-Live is held in The Hermit Club on Friday evenings! It is a live music gig that is attended by over 100 young people every week and young people play a full and active part in the session. The young volunteers do most all of the significant jobs, booking bands, publicity, tickets, sign people in etc. Young musicians perform each week and all of the technicians are teenagers. Youth workers support young peoples initiatives.

Detached Work - Brentwood

The detached project is used primarily to support young people who are unable to or do not wish to access the main provisions based at the Hermit. Youth workers meet young people in areas that they congregate and provide an informal point of contact for activities, information and support.
